Led by Byron Capp, Director of Business Development the Total Metals Estimating Team brings over 75 years experience in putting together our company bids on complex, multi facet projects quickly. The team has all the necessary tools including sophisticated computer/cad software to allow rapid download and viewing of customer drawings and specifications, state of the art software which automates much of the estimating efforts, and an elaborate internal computer network providing the latest material price and fabrication labor information is used in our cost proposals to our customers. Our Team’s experience combined with the right tools insures our customers are provided cost proposals that are accurate, reliable, and competitive. Our team strives to provide you an honest cost proposal the first time.
If we determine that the scope in your request for proposals is unclear or might allow for some necessary work being left out, we will bring it to your attention prior to providing a cost proposal. In doing so, it is Total Metals intent to avoid the unfair bidding practice of some competitors who first lands the job then change order the project to death. Our change orders are left for legitimate scope changes so you know the cost of our work package when you receive our proposal. When we do receive a request for change order, we give them top priority to do quickly as we realize the project is underway and a delay in costing a change order might impact the entire projects schedule.
Total Metals strives for continuous process improvement in our estimating department by taking the further steps of soliciting customer feedback on every proposal that we make and providing the estimating department the accounting data for each completed job segregated by each proposal cost element allowing for actual cost versus bid validation studies.
